ciele athletics, a rapidly growing athletics brand based in montreal, canada, is on the search for a new team member to oversee all of our external communications, with a priority on social media and email. 

the communications specialist will manage our existing social media channels and make plans and strategies for expanding onto other channels. they will take over strategy and execution of our email communications, with the main focus being on our newsletter, flows, and then supporting the sales team with retailer and distribution one-to-many communications, and our FRNDs and FAM monthly updates. they will support our external PR team’s storytelling and product knowledge for key campaigns during the year. 

we are a small team in a quickly evolving environment. as a result of that, the exact needs and tasks of the position can change often. We are looking for someone who is open to change, who thrives in an agile environment, who loves working with social media channels, gets excited about brand building and has a strong interest in the run space, the people within and their stories. 

this is the first role of its kind for ciele, and we are expecting that the person coming in will be able to level up how we have been handling these areas up until now, and act as a voice of expertise guiding the way to better future strategies optimizing individual channels, while building to a more harmonious ecosystem overall. 

they will work closely with the rest of the marketing team, the product team, the espace | MTL team, and the sales team (wholesale, distribution, and ecomm) to build a plan – then execute it – for each calendar year.

primary responsibilities : 

build strategies per channel, taking into consideration objectives, key campaigns, moments, events, and partnerships, and execute against it. consider the current platforms we use and build a roadmap to other platforms that could drive awareness and/or sales for the brand in the future. you will have the support of other members of the team around content and copy, but will have a seat at the table and can grow into taking more responsibility in planning those shoots and the messages that should accompany them. 

required specific qualifications : 

we are looking for someone with a minimum of 3 years experience in communications, with a deep understanding and passion for social media and email. running knowledge is key. fluency in written english and french is mandatory. we need someone who is detail oriented, works well as an individual and as part of a team, has an entrepreneurial drive, and is able to handle flipping between strategy and execution. this position is based in montreal and we expect that they are primarily working from the office. the job does entail work outside of standard business hours to cover events in evenings and weekends.
