Tread is really good, and the upper fits nice and snug. They’re like the Solomon S/Lab Ultra’s but with more cushioning and the plate is very responsive. Found them to be springier than your normal trail shoe on the flatter sections. The toe box had the typical snugness for Salomon (aka tight) and the insole was slipping more than I had wanted in the rain but it’s kinda to be expected. The added cushioning does not detract from the ground feel and it retains enough ‘nimbleness’ to still tackle more technical parts without feeling like you’re going to roll and ankle. Good heel-lock and the shoe felt relatively protective of the foot. The tread excels on soft dirt, clay, and mud but doesn’t do as well on technical terrain like logs and rocks but is ok. Overall, would highly recommend. Really loved the springiness of the sole and the snug sock-like fit of the upper.
